100+ pieces of unique Lalique selling at Gorringes Auction House – Thurs, Sept 6 at 2pm

The author, *G.G. Weiner is selling his private collection of 100 pieces of unique Lalique automotive mascots, desk ornaments, trophies and paperweights along with some pairs of bookends and associated ephemera. Mainly from the inter-war “Art Decoperiod”. The sale to be held on Thursday September 6th, 2018 at 2 p.m. (during The Goodwood Revival week) at Gorringes Auction House in nearby Lewes, Sussex. www.gorringes.co.uk takes you to the link.

Viewings are that week and on the morning of the sale. This is an exceptionally large collection. Included in the auction is a portrait of René Jules Lalique in oil on canvas (pictured), glass display case, black glass circular mascot bases, reference books, catalogs, promotional flyers, etc. and a superb limited edition Lalique branded “Mascot” watch.

    Many thanks for this. In fact in this auction there are pieces that total to over a hundred if you include the glass mascot bases, however there are not one hundred actual mascots for sale. I do have more mascots, which are repeats of the ones in the sale, however I have some opalescent pieces that may be for sale if I contemplate a part two auction at the same venue, lets see how these go!
